Common questions
Frequently asked questions
How much does house clearance cost?
Cost depends on volume, access, labour and the type of waste involved. After a quick look — photos, a call or a visit — we'll give you a clear, free quote with nothing hidden.
How quickly can you come?
Often within the week, sometimes sooner. Urgent enquiries are accommodated where possible — just call and let us know your timescale.
Do I need to be present on the day?
Not necessarily. Work can be arranged through a family member, executor, landlord or solicitor, with access agreed in advance.
Can you set aside important or sentimental items?
Yes. Tell us about documents, photographs, jewellery or keepsakes in advance and we'll look out for them and set them aside during the clearance.
What happens to the items you remove?
Usable items are donated locally where possible, materials are recycled where suitable, and everything else goes through authorised, licensed waste disposal routes.
Do you help with probate and estate clearances?
Yes. We work with executors, solicitors and estate agents, and can provide photographic reports or a clearance certificate where required for the probate process.
Are you insured and a registered waste carrier?
Yes — we're a registered waste carrier and fully insured. [INSURANCE & LICENCE DETAILS]
Which areas do you cover?
We're based in Jedburgh and regularly cover Ancrum, Denholm, St Boswells, Bonchester Bridge, Roxburgh, Eckford, Morebattle, Hownam, Oxnam and surrounding Borders villages. Not sure if we reach you? Just ask.
Do I need to sort things before you arrive?
No — you can leave everything as it is. If you'd like to sort in advance, that's fine too; we're happy to work either way.
Can you clear properties with difficult access?
Yes — narrow lanes, upper floors and tight parking are common across the Borders. Let us know about access when you enquire so we can plan accordingly.
